How Well is the Safe Clear Program Working

Well, it's being changed somewhat. However, the program recently cost a woman her life. Her minivan died because it ran out of gas. She was able to cross traffic on I-10, get gas, and then see her car getting geared up to be towed. She dropped the gas can, ran across a couple lanes of I-10, and didn't make it across the last lane.

Not the way to go.

Remembering STS-107 (Columbia)

2 years ago today, the space shuttle columbia broke apart over texas. I remember it pretty vividly. I was watching the news that Saturday morning and they started talking about it and showing pictures. What a tragedy. Only minutes from landing in Florida also. Entry at about 25,000 MPH, so it would have been like 2 minutes before they landed safely.

Instead they didn't make it. Hopefully NASA has made improvements to the shuttle and can maybe perform space rescues if needed. Hopefully they have learned from the past...
