Longhorn Caverns

Had a fun trip to Longhorn Caverns yesterday. The weather started out pretty bad for the drive to just south of Burnet, TX (40-50 miles northwest of Austin). Once we got to Austin, the weather cleared up and it was really nice. After passing through countless curves and hills, we finally got there.

We initially wanted to do the "wild cave tour", where you get down and dirty in the cave. You would crawl through narrow spaces and some water and things of that nature. Not enough people signed up so we just went on the regular tour.

Here is a preview of some of the pictures I took of the cave (click here for all of the pictures I took)

Comments:
Too bad the wild cave thing didn't work out. But glad you still got to go! The hill country has so much to offer and is really neat like that.

If you enjoyed Longhorn, there's also Natural Bridge Caverns just outside of San Antonio to the NE that's pretty cool. They have an adventure tour where you go rapelling and stuff..I've only done the walk through (before the adventure even existed!), but it was still pretty neat.
