My Wife's Job Sucks
She works at Lane Bryant (yeah, I'm dropping names). She can't open anymore because we don't have anyone to watch the kids. They also got a new store manager (Mandy) the same day that she called in sick (for the 2nd time since she started there over a year ago). A couple days later, Kai gets the same thing she had.
This new store manager must have it out for my wife. First she emails the district manager (Chris) asking what she should do about my wife's schedule. She thinks my wife is "highly unprofessional" because she could only give a weeks notice of her availability. Um, we have 3 kids and you never know what happens with them. She asks for permission to replace her. My wife gets demoted and her pay cut back. She was OK with that because she couldn't fill out her responsibilities that she had before. But to say she is highly unprofessional is, unprofessional. This lady started there last week. She doesn't know my wife. I think that she just wants to get one of her friends to transfer over. I worked retail, I know what goes on.
Since she is still technically a supervisor, she is supposed to read any email correspondence from corporate. Guess what, she's been locked out of the system already. I would email this Chris character and let him know what's going on. He's only getting one side of the story. This new store manager doesn't know that my wife is far the best at breaking down freight (new shipments) and probably one of the best salespersons they have. Maybe the new store manager should talk to the old store manager to find out her opinion on my wife...oh wait she has. When my wife called in sick, the new store manager asked the old store manager if "she did this often", as in call in sick.
Also, my wife was scheduled for zero (0) hours for next week. What kind of shit is that? When I worked retail, if you got scheduled for zero hours (without asking for it), then they were trying to force you to quit, without having to ask you to quit.
I know that most of you reading this probably don't give two shits about it, I'm just venting. And those that know me thought I didn't get emotional.
I told her to quit, fuck 'em. Tell 'em to take the job and shove it. There's plenty of other places that she could work at that pay her more without the bullshit she's going through now. But we'll see.
